MPS CAMPING AT THE ”POLICE RAPID RESPONSE UNIT” IN KIREKA OVER DETAINED DOCTOR

Reports Samuel Ouga
Dr. Onzivua was commissioned by Uganda Parliament to carry out an independent investigation to find out what killed the late vocal 24 year old MP Nebanda. He was scheduled to fly to South Africa to carry out further tests, but was intercepted and arrested by Police from Entebbe Airport.

Police had earlier on denied arresting the doctor but made a u-turn after media houses broke the story of the arrest. Police then confirmed the arrest. The police spokes person, Judith Nabakoba issued a press statements saying pathologist Sylvestre Onzivua, whom they arrested at Entebbe airport as he tried to fly out to South Africa, had no authority to undertake conclusive toxicological tests abroad without government involvement.

In a statement, the Force Spokesperson Judith Nabakooba notes that Dr Onzivua allegedly acquired the body parts “irregularly”. He is in custody at an unnamed confinement facility in Kampala, and the statement says detectives are questioning him on how he acquired the body parts, circumstances of their storage and who authorised him.

Parliament & the fallen MP’s family reportedly contracted the senior Makerere University lecturer to fly the samples to a South African laboratory for conclusive toxicological tests. Government now faults him for violating the law and procedure on doing autopsies.

The pathologist, according to police, was trying to “smuggle” the body parts out of the country.

However, during a special Parliamentary session this afternoon, MP Dr.Baryomunsi addressed parliament saying that they had a meeting at Mulago Hospital together with the police and agreed that the body samples be taken to SA. He says the pathologist had full authorization from police and therefore wasn’t doing anything illegal.
All these is now fanning more public suspicion of government involvement and possible cover up.

The Mother of the deceased public attacked Security officials yesterday and today during a requiem mass, when news reached that the Police had arrested the pathologist commissioned to carry out an independent investigation.

  1. DOESNT NABAKOBA KNOW THAT GOVERNMENT IS SUSPECT NUMBER TWO: Police had earlier on denied arresting the doctor but made a u-turn after media houses broke the story of the arrest.

  2. I wonder when Nabakooba last used her brain.
All these things that they are doing doesn’t make it any better for them.
How many people have abused office even in the Police itself and they decided to look the other way?
Bagende mu maaso but a time will come soon and they will wish that they didn’t do what they have done.
